Anzoátegui Governor Inaugurates El Limón Environmental Technology Park at Former Cantaura Landfill
CIRCULAR ECONOMY & RECYCLING
The El Limón Environmental Technology Park was inaugurated by Anzoátegui Governor Luis José Marcano, transforming a former open-air waste dump into a facility focused on waste management and recycling. The project, costing over $120,000, includes 20 hectares of land that underwent deep cleaning and structural improvements.
It aims to enhance the circular economy by recycling plastics into new products. The initiative benefits 30 local recyclers and creates 10 jobs, while the site processes around 950 tons of waste monthly, with recyclers handling 20 to 30 tons of plastic.
