APh ePower Wins 2025 R&D 100 Award for Elevator Energy Recovery System

DATA AND AI INFRASTRUCTURECARBON CAPTURE

APh ePower received the 2025 R&D 100 Award for its Elevator Regenerative Power System (ERPS), which recovers kinetic energy during elevator rides, achieving over 90% conversion efficiency. The system enables elevators to operate during outages and can cut global energy use by over 40%.

In April 2025, Gold Standard approved a methodology for generating carbon credits from this technology. With 15 million elevators worldwide, ERPS has the potential to save 164 TWh of energy annually. APh ePower plans to extend its technology to various sectors, including AI data centers and smart city infrastructure.
