Applied Digital Breaks Ground on 430 MW Delta Forge 1 AI Data Center in Southern US
Applied Digital has commenced construction on the Delta Forge 1 AI data center in the southern US, which will feature two 150 MW buildings and support 430 MW of utility power. Applied Digital has begun construction on Delta Forge 1, a data center campus designed to support 430 MW of utility power and up to 300 MW of IT load, located in a strategic southern US market. The campus will consist of two 150 MW buildings across over 500 acres, with initial operations expected to start in mid-2027.
The project aims to leverage Applied Digital's expertise in AI infrastructure, focusing on power, cooling, and operational efficiency. The company is in discussions with a prospective investment-grade hyperscale customer for the campus. Delta Forge 1 will create over 200 full-time jobs and is part of Applied Digital's broader strategy to expand its AI infrastructure capabilities, following previous projects in North Dakota.
