Approval of Regional Law for Urban Planning of Logistics Settlements in Trieste
The Council of Local Autonomies (Cal) has approved a regional law for urban planning of logistics settlements in Trieste. This measure aims to ensure private initiatives align with regional strategies, relieving municipalities from critical decision-making alone.
The law establishes guidelines for the planning of logistics sites, ensuring urban planning consistency and pursuing environmental and health objectives, including land consumption reduction and urban regeneration. The law defines logistics settlements as non-intermodal logistics platforms, storage centers, product depots, and data centers.
The regional government will directly assess projects exceeding three hectares, focusing on criteria such as connectivity, land consumption reduction, and prioritization of brownfield sites for regeneration. The law emphasizes public health, environmental protection, and sustainable development.
