Aragón Approves Box2Bit Data Center in Épila with €3.9 Billion Investment
The Government of Aragón has approved Box2Bit's data center project in Épila, involving a €3.9 billion investment, with an initial phase of €1.125 billion. The development is expected to create around 1,550 jobs during construction and operation, covering 33 hectares with plans for expansion. Completion is anticipated by 2029, aiming to enhance Aragón's role in the data center industry.

The Government of Aragón has approved a new data center project by Box2Bit in Épila, with a total investment of €3.9 billion, starting with an initial phase of €1.125 billion. This project is expected to have a significant impact on the region, generating approximately 550 direct and 1,000 indirect jobs during construction, and 63 direct and 200 indirect jobs during operation.
The data center will cover about 33 hectares initially, expandable to 100 hectares, featuring two data processing buildings and related infrastructure. The first phase will require 150 megawatts (MW) of power, with the potential to increase to 520 MW in later phases.
Completion of the project is estimated for 2029, and it is designed to support data processing, hosting, and IT consultancy services. The project is part of a broader strategy to enhance Aragón's position in the data center industry.
