Archbold Village Council Defers Data Center Moratorium, Focuses on Zoning Updates
DATA AND AI INFRASTRUCTURE
The Archbold village council will not implement a moratorium on data center development, following legal advice that it is unnecessary due to the absence of formal proposals. Village Administrator Aaron Alt stated that while a moratorium has been drafted, it is not needed currently.
The council aims to focus on updating zoning regulations to prevent data centers in the future. Mayor Bradley Grime assured residents that the village is committed to economic development but is opposed to data centers. Zoning changes will clarify permitted uses and prevent loopholes.
