Argentina Launches $700 Million Tender for 700 MW Battery Energy Storage Systems

Argentina's Energy Secretariat has opened a tender for 700 MW of battery energy storage systems (BESS) at key locations nationwide, excluding the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area. The initiative aims to improve grid reliability and minimize outages during peak demand periods.

It encompasses regions including Northwest, Northeast, Central, Litoral, and Cuyo, along with parts of Buenos Aires outside the capital. The total projected investment for this program is approximately $700 million, administered by CAMMESA, the operator of Argentina's wholesale electricity market.
