Arkansas has launched the Arkansas Rural Electric Cooperative Caucus (ARECC) to advocate for cooperative consumer-member interests. This initiative aims to inform lawmakers about energy trends and challenges facing the state, emphasizing the importance of informed decision-making for Arkansas' energy future.

The Arkansas Rural Electric Cooperative Caucus (ARECC) was established by local lawmakers to focus on the energy needs of cooperative consumer-members in the state. This caucus will provide educational resources regarding current energy sources, emerging technologies, and industry trends.
Its inaugural meeting included insights into energy demands from Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corporation President/CEO Vernon 'Buddy' Hasten, highlighting the impact of data centers and natural gas generation. The caucus will convene regularly throughout the year to address ongoing energy-related issues, critical for economic growth and development in Arkansas.
