Armenia to Approve Mass Printing of Biometric Passports, Launch New Citizen Service Offices

Armenia is set to approve the mass printing of new biometric passports, with the printing of new identification cards already underway. A meeting between Interior Minister Arpine Sargsyan and Dounia El Hasnaoui of the IN Groupe & Corporación América consortium confirmed ongoing cooperation for biometric document production.

A roadmap for implementing the biometric system was presented, including launching a compliant data center and online application management software. Initial service points will open in major Yerevan shopping centers, with plans to expand to 23 offices. The project aims to modernize citizen services and enhance compatibility with European border management systems, contributing to visa liberalization efforts.
