Armenian Government Allocates Funds for Yerevan State University's Supercomputer Center
The Armenian government has allocated 3.4 billion drams for the establishment of a supercomputer center at Yerevan State University, with an additional 1.17 billion drams earmarked for 2025 to equip it with a supercomputer featuring 64 NVIDIA H100 cards. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan visited the university to review the completed installation and stress testing of the center, which aims to bolster Armenia's capabilities in artificial intelligence and high-performance computing. State funding for science in Armenia has nearly tripled since 2018.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan visited Yerevan State University (YSU) to review its new supercomputer center. In 2024, the government allocated 3.4 billion drams for the center's establishment, with an additional 1.17 billion drams in 2025 for a supercomputer equipped with 64 NVIDIA H100 cards.
After nearly two years of preparation, installation and stress testing are complete. The center aims to enhance Armenia's capabilities in artificial intelligence and high-performance computing, serving research groups in various scientific fields.
State funding for science has nearly tripled since 2018. Pashinyan was also briefed on the ongoing renovation of the YSU Sargis and Mari Izmirlian Library lobby.
