Army to Reassess $237M Soldier Gear Contract After Protests from MAG Aerospace and DCS Corp
The U.S. Army will re-evaluate proposals for a $237 million contract aimed at enhancing soldier protective equipment due to protests from MAG Aerospace and DCS Corp. Amentum has previously won this contract twice, first in summer 2025, but both awards were challenged on grounds of misevaluation. Following the latest protests in January, the Army will engage in discussions with the involved companies and accept final proposal revisions before making a new best-value decision.

The U.S. Army is set to re-evaluate proposals for a $237 million contract to enhance soldier protective equipment after protests from MAG Aerospace and DCS Corp. Amentum has won the Product Manager Soldier Clothing and Individual Equipment contract twice, first in summer 2025.
After the initial award, MAG and DCS protested, claiming the Army made evaluation errors. The Army rescinded the award in September for a reevaluation. Amentum's second win faced similar protests in late January, leading to DCS filing a supplemental protest. The Army will now hold discussions with all three companies, accept final revisions, and re-evaluate proposals under the RS3 vehicle.
