Aroostook County Sees Major Economic Development in 2025 with Aerospace and Agriculture Projects

In 2025, Aroostook County is experiencing significant economic development, highlighted by a $6 million aerospace research park in Presque Isle, which is set to enhance the region's aerospace industry. The park will support VALT Enterprizes, a local rocket company, which will expand into the new facility.

A $65 million potato chip plant by Taste of Maine Potato Chip Co. is underway at the Loring Commerce Centre, expected to create 40 jobs and produce around 100,000 bags of chips daily. Additionally, Minnesota-based LiquidCool Solutions is establishing Maine's first AI data center at Loring, with operations expected to launch within six months, potentially expanding to 50 megawatts.

Aero Intelligence, a Kansas City-based aerospace company, has begun operations in a historic hangar at Loring. Agricultural advancements include a $3 million research lab at the University of Maine's Aroostook Farm and McCain Foods acquiring Penobscot McCrum to enhance local potato processing capabilities.
