Arthur Bus Files for Insolvency in Poland Ahead of Hydrogen Bus Deliveries

HYDROGEN

Arthur Bus, a hydrogen bus specialist, has filed for insolvency for its Polish subsidiary, Arthur Bus sp. z o.o., as of November 26, 2025. This comes just before the first customer delivery of the Arthur H2 Zero, which was unveiled in 2022.

Founded in 2021 in Munich, Arthur Bus aimed to produce hydrogen buses in Lublin, Poland, but has halted production due to financial difficulties. The company reported a loss of 6.6 million PLN in 2023 and over 19 million PLN in 2024.

Major customers, including the city of Lublin with an order of 20 buses, face potential funding loss from the National Fund for Environmental Protection if replacements are not ordered soon. The Lublin plant has been inactive for weeks, with unpaid employees. Co-founder Philipp Glonner left the company in October 2025, and Martin Lischka, former marketing chief, recently transitioned to another role.
