Arunachal Pradesh Unveils Decade-Long Development Plan with Focus on Infrastructure and Youth Empowerment

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu announced a comprehensive ₹7,834 crore investment plan for the period 2026-29 to improve roads, rural connectivity, and power infrastructure following recent natural disasters. The state aims to skill 100,000 youth and create 10,000 entrepreneurs under the Arunachal Human Capital and Economic Transformation Vision 2036.

A focus on hydropower includes a target of nearly 19 GW of new capacity with investments around ₹1.9 lakh crore during the Decade of Hydropower (2025-2035). Khandu emphasized the need for resilient infrastructure to withstand disasters, highlighting the role of community participation in development projects while safeguarding indigenous cultures and customs. As the state approaches its 50th year of statehood in 2027, the government encourages youth to explore opportunities beyond traditional government jobs, fostering innovation in various sectors including technology and tourism.
