Asahi Kasei Begins Installation of 1 MW Electrolyzer at Finland's First Hydrogen Station in Jyväskylä
Asahi Kasei has started the installation of a 1 MW Aqualyzer™-C3 alkaline electrolyzer at Finland's first commercial hydrogen station in Jyväskylä. The project marks a significant milestone for the European hydrogen ecosystem. The electrolyzer, supplied to Central Finland Mobility Foundation (Cefmof), aims to support local hydrogen vehicle infrastructure and is expected to produce 400 kg of hydrogen daily, sufficient to fuel approximately three fuel cell vehicles per hour. Operations are set to commence in summer 2026.

Asahi Kasei has commenced the installation of a 1 MW Aqualyzer™-C3 alkaline electrolyzer at Jyväskylä, Finland’s first commercial hydrogen station. This marks a key milestone for the European hydrogen ecosystem.
In July 2025, Asahi Kasei announced its plans to supply the electrolyzer to the Central Finland Mobility Foundation (Cefmof), which intends to expand hydrogen vehicle infrastructure. Cefmof Hydrogen, a subsidiary of Cefmof, will operate the system, which is expected to produce 400 kg of hydrogen per day, sufficient for three fuel cell vehicles per hour, with operations starting in summer 2026.
