Assam Launches GPU Cluster for AI-Driven Public Services
Assam has initiated its first government-owned GPU cluster aimed at enhancing AI capabilities for public services. This project signifies a foundational step towards establishing the state as an AI-centric region, improving governance and service delivery.

Assam has commissioned its inaugural GPU cluster to support AI infrastructure for public services. This includes two operational AI applications and a third leveraging AI capabilities, all established within a month.
The initiative aims to position Assam as an AI-first state, enhancing governance through technological advancements. The GPU cluster, featuring L40S 8-node architecture, arrived at the state data center recently.
The Chief Minister has promoted AI as a transformative force for better governance, indicating a commitment to ongoing development in this domain. Continued investment in AI infrastructure may yield significant improvements in public service efficiency.
