Asso.subsea Signs Contract for Second Trenching Support Vessel Andromeda
Asso.subsea has confirmed a shipbuilding contract for Andromeda, a next-generation trenching support vessel. Built at China Merchants Heavy Industry's Shenzhen Shipyard, Andromeda will be a sister vessel to Avra, with delivery scheduled for Q2 2028. It will feature identical technical specifications to Avra, including a DP2 design and 24 MW hybrid power, enabling simultaneous deployment of two trenching vehicles. The vessel aims to enhance efficiency in trenching and subsea interventions.

Asso.subsea has signed a contract to build Andromeda, a trenching support vessel set for delivery in Q2 2028. This vessel will be constructed at the same facility as its sister ship, Avra, at China Merchants Heavy Industry's Shenzhen Shipyard.
Both vessels will feature a DP2 design and 24 MW of hybrid power, allowing for demanding trenching operations. Andromeda will include twin working decks, extensive machinery, and the ability to deploy two trenching vehicles simultaneously. The design supports operations in offshore wind and cable segments.
