Atalaya Mining Reports 14% Drop in Copper Production Due to Heavy Rains in Q1 2026
Atalaya Mining's copper production fell to 9,939 tons in Q1 2026, a 14% decrease from Q4 2025, attributed to heavy rains. The company anticipates recovering production levels in upcoming quarters despite ongoing challenges.

Atalaya Mining reported a copper production of 9,939 tons in Q1 2026, down 14% from 11,550 tons in Q4 2025 and 30.45% lower than the same quarter in 2025. Heavy rains impeded access to mining areas at Cerro Colorado, affecting operations.
Mineral extraction totaled 3.4 million tons, while waste extraction was 10.2 million tons in the same period. The average copper price increased to $5.87/lb compared to $5.10/lb in Q4 2025. Atalaya plans to continuously review its 2026 production forecasts following the impact of weather conditions. The company also remains focused on ongoing projects in Spain and Sweden, including drilling activities and environmental permits for new mining initiatives.
