The company aims to build a network of modular hydrogen production facilities primarily for industrial and commercial uses, supported by a $1 million investment from the Delaware Accelerator & Seed Capital Program.

Aternium will expand its hydrogen production into Kent and Sussex counties in Delaware, shifting focus from New Castle County. CEO Dr. Andrew Cottone announced this strategy during a Wilmington Rotary Club meeting on February 5.
The company seeks to establish a distributed network of modular hydrogen facilities to supply industrial customers, reduce infrastructure risk, and scale capacity. Aternium's hydrogen, powered by renewable electricity, is intended for industrial use rather than energy production. The expansion reflects Delaware's clean energy strategy and aims to create jobs and attract investment in underdeveloped regions.
