Atlantic Aviation Acquires Ferrovial Vertiports to Advance Advanced Air Mobility

ADVANCED AIR MOBILITY (AAM) / NEXT-GEN AVIATION

Atlantic Aviation has acquired Ferrovial's vertiports business to enhance advanced air mobility (AAM) capabilities. CEO Kevin Cox emphasizes the use of a sophisticated demand model informed by cellphone data to identify passenger traffic patterns.

The company, with 110 FBO locations, is focusing on strategic electrification of its facilities and has already partnered with Beta Technologies for charging infrastructure. Atlantic intends to support both existing aviation customers and AAM users, preparing to quickly deploy infrastructure in dense markets like downtown Miami and Dallas.

Key challenges include differing electric aircraft charging standards, which Atlantic will address based on operator needs. The goal is to offer competitive pricing while ensuring a return on capital investments, allowing for scalable growth in the emerging AAM sector.
