Atlantis SEZ Secures R4 Billion Investment for Green Industrial Expansion
The Atlantis Special Economic Zone (ASEZ) plans to invest nearly R4 billion over three years, aiming to create approximately 7,200 jobs by 2035. This initiative, supported by the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition, will expand industrial land and strengthen South Africa's green economy.

The Atlantis Special Economic Zone (ASEZ) will receive nearly R4 billion in infrastructure and fixed capital investment from the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition (dtic) over the next three years. This funding is projected to create 7,200 jobs by 2035, including 1,200 direct permanent positions and 6,000 construction jobs through the expansion of 72 hectares in Zones 2 and 3.
Established in 2018, the ASEZ focuses on renewable energy and green manufacturing. The Western Cape is positioning itself as a leader in green energy, with plans for a Green Hydrogen sector and a site for an EV battery factory. The investment reinforces the ASEZ's role in advancing South Africa's industrial development and green economy ambitions.
