Atlas Agro and Tereos Sign Low-Carbon Fertiliser Supply Agreement in Brazil
Atlas Agro and Tereos have entered a long-term agreement to supply low-carbon fertilisers for sugarcane production in Brazil, utilizing fertilisers from Atlas's upcoming $1 billion Uberaba Green Fertilizer plant. This facility aims to produce 500,000 tons of ammonium nitrate annually using renewable energy, allowing Tereos to reduce its nitrogen consumption by approximately 30%, thereby cutting CO₂ emissions and decreasing reliance on imports.

Atlas Agro and Tereos have formed a long-term partnership for the supply of low-carbon fertilisers for sugarcane production in Brazil. Atlas will supply fertilisers produced at its Uberaba Green Fertilizer plant in Triângulo Mineiro (MG), which is under development and will require an investment of about $1 billion.
The plant aims to produce 500,000 tons of liquid and granulated ammonium nitrate fertiliser annually from renewable energy-based hydrogen and ammonia. The agreement will allow Tereos to replace approximately 30% of its nitrogen consumption in sugarcane production, thus significantly reducing annual CO₂ emissions and import dependency.
