Atlas Salt Secures Letter of Interest from Export Development Canada for Great Atlantic Salt Project
Atlas Salt has received a Letter of Interest from Export Development Canada for potential financing of up to C$150 million, marking a significant milestone for the Great Atlantic Salt Project. This support is crucial as the company seeks to secure a total of C$350 million to C$400 million in senior secured debt for the project, which aims to establish a major salt mine in Newfoundland.

Atlas Salt TSXV:SALT is advancing its financing efforts for the Great Atlantic Salt Project following a Letter of Interest from Export Development Canada (EDC) for up to C$150 million in potential long-term debt. This non-binding letter facilitates detailed due diligence by EDC, which may participate as Mandated Lead Arranger in the senior debt financing if successful.
The company aims to secure C$350 million to C$400 million in total senior secured debt, supported by Endeavour Financial. The latest feasibility study estimates an after-tax net present value of C$920 million and a post-tax internal rate of return of 21.3%.
With a projected production of four million tonnes of salt annually, the project could achieve payback within 4.2 years and generate approximately C$188 million in after-tax free cash flow over a 25-year mine life. EDC's involvement enhances credibility among prospective lenders, as critical mineral projects gain institutional interest, but financing completion remains uncertain.
