atNorth and Kesko Launch Heat Reuse Project in Finland for Retail Store Heating
atNorth's heat reuse partnership with Kesko went live in November 2025, delivering waste heat from the FIN02 data center in Espoo to a Kesko store. This project supports Kesko's goal of reducing emissions by 58.8%, lowering CO₂ emissions by approximately 200 tons annually. It highlights the role of data centers in local energy ecosystems and aligns with Finland's circular economy objectives.

atNorth's heat reuse partnership with Kesko Corporation commenced in November 2025, utilizing waste heat from the FIN02 data center in Espoo to heat a nearby Kesko retail store. This initiative aims to repurpose nearly all heating needs for the store, reducing both organizations' reliance on district heating and emissions.
Kesko anticipates a reduction of around 200 tons of CO₂ equivalent per year from this project, contributing to its sustainability target of a 58.8% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions. This collaboration exemplifies how data centers can support local energy systems and bolster circular economy efforts in Finland.
