Atria Group Launches Agrivoltaic Project in Chittoor to Enhance Farming Sustainability
Project Chittoor introduces agrivoltaic systems to support farmers in Chittoor district, integrating solar energy with agricultural practices. This initiative aims to bolster farm incomes and energy self-sufficiency while addressing challenges such as climate stress and unreliable power supply.

The agrivoltaic project at Thirumala Raju Puram (Palyam) spans approximately 600 acres and targets a capacity of around 6 MW. Each block measures 1-1.5 acres with an installed capacity of about 300 kW, facilitating the coexistence of crops and solar energy generation.
Power generated will operate agricultural infrastructure, including pumps and cold storage, reducing operational costs and dependence on grid electricity. Elevated solar panels provide partial shading, enhancing crop resilience during high temperatures. This model generates a stable income stream for farmers without sacrificing cultivable land, addressing issues like income volatility and climate impacts, potentially transforming local farming economies.
