Attica Approves 80 MW Olive Data Center Development in Spata with €300 Million Investment
The Region of Attica has approved the €300 million Olive Data Center development in Spata-Artemida, marking a significant step in Greece's growing data center ecosystem. With total investment interest in Attica's data centers nearing €1 billion, notable projects include DATA4's Hermes-B data center and Microsoft's upcoming facility, both highlighting the region's appeal to international investors. Concerns over rising electricity and water demands are prompting initiatives for sustainable energy solutions and water recycling.

The Region of Attica has approved the development of the Olive Data Center in Spata-Artemida, with an initial budget of approximately €300 million. GRECO MI will develop the center on a 6.23-hectare site, contributing to Greece's emerging data center ecosystem.
Total investment interest in Attica's data centers approaches €1 billion, indicating strong international interest. Notable projects include DATA4's Hermes-B data center in Paiania, with a potential investment of €500 million and a capacity of 90 MW, expected to be completed by early 2027, and Microsoft's data center in the 'Petra Gyalou-Voulia-Prokalisi' Business Park, targeting completion in 2028 with a capacity of 25 MW.
Additionally, DAMAC and PPC are collaborating on the 'Data in Scale' project, investing €150 million in a facility with 12.5 MW capacity. The increasing number of data centers is raising concerns over electricity and water demand, prompting a push for autonomous energy solutions and recycled water production.
