Austral Resources Australia is refurbishing its Rocklands processing plant, with a 4.75MW SAG mill scheduled to arrive next month. GR Engineering Services is responsible for the engineering design and construction of front-end modifications.
The existing infrastructure will support a planned processing capacity of 3Mtpa. Demolition activities for conveyors and structures are ongoing, with acceleration expected to facilitate the SAG mill installation.
Earthworks and civil construction are projected to begin in Q3 2026, aiming for completion before the 2026/27 wet season. The mining operations at Flying Horse and Mount Clarke are supplying oxide feed to the Mount Kelly facility, ensuring a blend with future sulphide feed. This integrated strategy positions Austral for effective copper production.
