Australia Launches Four Major Projects to Strengthen Supply Chains and Decarbonize Economy
Australia has announced four major projects to enhance supply chains and support economic growth. Magnetite Mines in South Australia will produce premium magnetite concentrate with a capital investment of nearly $2 billion, creating 1,474 construction jobs and 450 ongoing jobs.
Gippsland Critical Minerals Ltd Fingerboards Project aims to supply rare earth elements and zircon, with an investment of $295 million, creating 400 construction jobs and 262 ongoing jobs. Project Wafers in North Queensland, with an investment of $420 million, will establish a 2 gigawatt silicon ingot manufacturing facility, generating 300 ongoing jobs. The Northern Quartz Campus will integrate solar and silicon production with a $4.5 billion investment, supporting 1,200 construction jobs and 2,000 ongoing jobs.
