Avaada Group Invests ₹22,000 Crore in Solar and Storage Expansion
Avaada Group is investing ₹22,000 crore in solar and storage projects, including a 2,500 MWh battery facility in Rajasthan. This investment aims to enhance India's renewable capacity and meet increasing grid-balancing needs.

Avaada Group is allocating ₹22,000 crore for solar generation, battery storage, and pumped hydro initiatives, with ₹7,500 crore directed towards pumped storage projects. The company plans to commission 800 MW to 1 GW of solar capacity by March, aided by nearly completed substations.
A significant part of the investment includes a 2,500 MWh battery storage system expected to be operational next year. As renewable energy consumption regulations tighten, over 130 compliance notices have been issued.
The evolving energy landscape necessitates both short-duration battery systems and long-duration pumped hydro for effective load management. Global supply chain shifts, particularly in China, are impacting module prices, presenting opportunities in Europe and the Middle East.
