Avnet Silica Research Reports €2.14 Billion Funding for European Energy Storage Startups
Avnet Silica's research reveals that European energy storage startups have attracted €2.14 billion in equity funding, with nearly half of this amount raised in the past three years. The report highlights significant investments in various sectors, including €331.8 million in battery energy storage systems and €696.7 million in mechanical storage, while also noting that Avnet Silica aims to support innovation through its Reach New Heights program.

Avnet Silica's new research indicates that European energy storage startups have secured €2.14 billion in equity funding, with 46.7% achieved in the last three years. The study highlights significant investments across various segments: €331.8 million in battery energy storage systems (BESS), €696.7 million in mechanical storage, and over €259 million in the supply chain.
Lithium-based batteries dominate BESS funding with €236 million, while emerging technologies like EV charging with embedded storage have raised €435.5 million. Thermal energy storage startups garnered €105.9 million, and 57% of BESS startups offer turnkey services. Avnet Silica is committed to supporting innovation through programs like Reach New Heights, aiding startups in overcoming technological scaling challenges.
