The study highlights significant investments across various segments: €331.8 million in battery energy storage systems (BESS), €696.7 million in mechanical storage, and over €259 million in the supply chain.

Lithium-based batteries dominate BESS funding with €236 million, while emerging technologies like EV charging with embedded storage have raised €435.5 million. Thermal energy storage startups garnered €105.9 million, and 57% of BESS startups offer turnkey services.
