AWS Data Center in UAE Temporarily Loses Power After Objects Hit Facility
Amazon Web Services reported a temporary power outage at its data center in the UAE on March 1 due to objects striking the facility, causing sparks and a fire. While the incident affected the mec1-az2 Availability Zone, AWS did not confirm a link between the outage and recent Iranian missile and drone attacks in the region. Firefighters cut the power to control the fire, and connectivity in the affected area is expected to take several hours to fully restore. Other AWS facilities in the UAE remain operational.
