DATA AND AI INFRASTRUCTURE

Axtel selected MDC Data Centers' MCA2 facility in McAllen, Texas, as its primary point of presence at the US-Mexico border, aiming to enhance digital interconnection. Axtel will move from the Chase building to MDC's site, which supports cross-border digital services.

The integration is seen as a critical step in McAllen's development as an interconnection hub. Axtel is also restructuring its finances, securing a MX$1.6 billion credit facility from Bancomext to prepay existing debt. Additionally, Axtel partnered with Trans Americas Fiber System to introduce the TAM-1 submarine cable system to Mexico by Q1 2026, linking it with the US, Central America, and the Caribbean.
