Ayar Labs and Lightmatter Join NVIDIA NVLink Fusion Ecosystem for Optical Connectivity
Ayar Labs and Lightmatter have joined the NVIDIA NVLink Fusion ecosystem to enhance optical connectivity for AI infrastructure. This collaboration aims to address critical bottlenecks in data movement and power efficiency as AI architectures scale.

Ayar Labs has integrated its co-packaged optics (CPO) solutions with the NVIDIA NVLink Fusion ecosystem, enabling hyperscalers to build AI infrastructure that optimizes bandwidth and power efficiency. This partnership allows for the deployment of heterogeneous compute, including custom silicon, within NVIDIA's rack-scale architecture.
Lightmatter has also joined the ecosystem, offering its CPO and Near-Packaged Optics (NPO) products, which reduce fiber and connector needs by 50% while enhancing connectivity across various chip suppliers. These advancements provide a pathway for faster deployment of AI infrastructure at scale, addressing existing I/O bottlenecks and improving total cost of ownership. The integration of both companies’ technologies is expected to accelerate the development of next-generation AI factories.
