Bain Capital Sells WinTriX China Data Center to HEC-Led Consortium for $4 Billion
Bain Capital has sold WinTriX DC Group's China business for approximately $4 billion to a consortium led by Shenzhen Dongyangguang Industry Co., Ltd., marking the largest transaction in China's data center history. This sale, which involves the Chindata platform, follows Bain's initial investment in WinTriX in 2018 and underscores the firm’s strategy to enhance infrastructure assets in response to China's growing digital infrastructure needs. HEC is anticipated to oversee the future development of Chindata.

Bain Capital completed the sale of WinTriX DC Group's China business, valued at approximately $4 billion, to a consortium led by Shenzhen Dongyangguang Industry Co., Ltd. The transaction is the largest in China's data center history and involves the Chindata platform.
Bain first invested in WinTriX in 2018, helping it grow into a leading hyperscale data center operator. The deal is part of Bain's strategy to support infrastructure assets and reflects confidence in China's digital infrastructure growth. HEC is expected to guide Chindata's development.
