Baker Hughes and Vallourec Sign MOU for Underground Hydrogen Storage with Delphy Solution
Baker Hughes and Vallourec have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate on hydrogen storage solutions for the green hydrogen market. The partnership aims to integrate Vallourec's Delphy storage solution with Baker Hughes' compression technologies. The collaboration will focus on optimizing storage configurations and operating pressures, aiming to reduce costs and enhance competitiveness in various sectors including green ammonia and sustainable fuels.

Baker Hughes and Vallourec signed a Memorandum of Understanding on February 17, 2026, to advance hydrogen storage solutions for the green hydrogen market. The collaboration aims to integrate Vallourec's Delphy underground hydrogen storage solution, which can store up to 100 tons of green hydrogen, with Baker Hughes' compression solutions.
Key areas of focus include optimizing compression-storage configurations and determining efficient operating pressures to reduce costs and improve competitiveness. Vallourec's Delphy solution is certified by Bureau Veritas and DNV, positioning Vallourec as a significant player in the green hydrogen value chain.
