Baker Hughes Secures LNG Equipment Award from QatarEnergy
Baker Hughes has been awarded a major LNG equipment contract from QatarEnergy for the North Field West project, which includes critical compressor and power generation systems. This development is significant as it underscores ongoing commitments to energy infrastructure amid regional challenges.

Baker Hughes has secured a substantial LNG equipment contract from QatarEnergy for the North Field West project, which entails the supply of main refrigerant compressor trains and power generation packages for two LNG mega trains. The contract includes six Frame 9 gas turbines, 12 centrifugal compressors, and integrated solutions with three Frame 6 gas turbines and BRUSH Power Generation generators.
Additionally, Baker Hughes received a separate order for six centrifugal compressor trains aimed at capturing and transporting up to 4.1 million tonnes of CO2 annually. QatarEnergy estimates that repairs to damaged LNG trains might take three to five years, potentially impacting 12.8 million tonnes per year of LNG production. These contracts highlight the continued investment in energy infrastructure despite geopolitical challenges.
