Balfour Beatty Increases Focus on U.S. Data Center Construction Amid Record Backlog

The company reported a record backlog of £22.7 billion for 2025, driven by strong performance in the U.S. and U.K. construction segments. With 2025 revenues at approximately £10.8 billion and a 51% rise in pre-tax profit year-over-year, Balfour Beatty is poised for growth despite challenges in other areas, including delays in a Texas highway project and ongoing legal issues related to military housing.

Balfour Beatty is targeting growth in the U.S. data center sector, highlighting its expertise in delivering project shells and cores. The company reported a record backlog of £22.7 billion for 2025, a 23.3% increase from 2024.
Revenue for 2025 is estimated at £10.8 billion, up 7.5% year-over-year, with pre-tax profit rising 51% to £323 million. Despite challenges such as schedule delays on a Texas highway project and legal costs from military housing issues, Balfour Beatty anticipates continued revenue growth in its Buildings segment and completion of the Texas project in 2026. Strong performances in U.S. and U.K. markets support this outlook.
