Baltic Power Offshore Wind Farm Completes Installation of 78 Foundations
The ORLEN Group and Northland Power joint venture has installed all 78 foundations at the Baltic Power offshore wind farm, Poland's first commercial-scale offshore project. The installation, completed 23 kilometers off Choczewo in four months, will power over 1.5 million households by 2026. Using Van Oord's Svanen vessel, the project utilized XXL monopiles weighing up to 2,400 tonnes. The next phase involves installing inter-array and export cables, leading to the deployment of 76 Vestas V236-15.0 MW turbines.

The ORLEN Group and Northland Power have completed the installation of all 78 foundations at the Baltic Power offshore wind farm, located 23 kilometers off Choczewo, Poland. This marks a significant milestone for Poland’s first commercial-scale offshore wind project, finished in just four months.
The installation used Van Oord's Svanen vessel to drive XXL monopiles, which weigh up to 2,400 tonnes. The 1.2 GW project aims to power over 1.5 million households by 2026. Following this phase, the focus will shift to installing inter-array and export cables, connecting 76 turbines to two offshore substations and the onshore grid. The project plans to use Vestas V236-15.0 MW turbines for this phase.
