Bangladesh Launches GPU Cloud and PaaS to Enhance Digital Public Infrastructure

DATA AND AI INFRASTRUCTURE

Bangladesh has launched GPU Cloud and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) facilities at the National Data Center to enhance its Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI). Inaugurated on January 14, 2026, by Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb, the services aim to improve national cloud capacity for universities, researchers, and students.

The initiative, part of the World Bank-supported 'Digital Government and Economy Strengthening Project,' addresses previous capacity gaps and integrates over 20 NVIDIA Volta tensor-core GPUs, equivalent to 45 CPUs each, providing up to 2,240 teraFLOPS of deep learning capacity. The CNCF-certified Kubernetes PaaS platform includes features like CI/CD pipelines and serverless computing. The new infrastructure will help ensure compliance with the Personal Data Protection Ordinance 2025, National Data Management Ordinance 2025, and Cyber Safety Ordinance 2025.
