The Padma Barrage Project will be discussed at the first Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (Ecnec) meeting on April 6. Estimated to cost Tk34,497 crore for the first phase, the total project cost is Tk50,443.64 crore.
It is scheduled for completion by June 2033, funded by government resources. The project includes a 2.1km barrage with 78 spillway gates, hydropower generation of approximately 113 megawatts, and water supply to key infrastructures.
