Banpu Acquires Megamouth Battery Energy Storage Project in Texas for $4 Million
Banpu Plc has acquired the Megamouth Battery Energy Storage System project in Texas for $4 million, marking its entry into the U.S. battery energy storage market. The project will have a capacity of 100 megawatts and 200 megawatt-hours, with construction starting in Q3 2025 and commercial operations expected by Q4 2027. This acquisition aligns with Banpu's strategy to expand its portfolio of lower-carbon power assets.

Banpu Plc has acquired the Megamouth Battery Energy Storage System project in Texas, marking its entry into the US battery energy storage market. The acquisition, valued at $4 million, was completed through Banpu Power US Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary.
The project will have an installed capacity of 100 megawatts and an energy storage capacity of 200 megawatt-hours. Construction is set to begin in Q3 2025, with commercial operations expected to start in Q4 2027.
