Barloworld Equipment Invests R68 Million in BRC Upgrades to Enhance Efficiency
Barloworld Equipment has committed R68 million to technology upgrades and skills development at its Barloworld Rebuild Centre. This investment aims to improve rebuild efficiency, extending the lifespan of equipment for southern African customers and promoting sustainability through component reuse.

Barloworld Equipment's Barloworld Rebuild Centre (BRC), operational since 2012, has received R68 million for upgrades aimed at enhancing rebuild efficiency and precision. Located in Boksburg, South Africa, the BRC remanufactures around 2,000 components annually for Caterpillar equipment, serving over 24,000 assets in the region.
The facility, the largest in Barloworld's dealer network, employs approximately 250 staff and is expanding its capabilities with investments in advanced machinery and electronic tooling technology. Future plans include digitization of operations and further sustainability initiatives, such as a rainwater harvesting system. This investment not only supports operational efficiency but also aligns with a circular economy approach, aiming for reduced environmental impact and increased component reuse.
