Bartrums Haulage Expands Electric Fleet with Voltempo Charging Solution
Bartrums Haulage has installed a 400kW charging unit to support its electric heavy goods vehicle fleet, backed by UK funding. The upgrade will enable the addition of more electric trucks, enhancing operational efficiency and sustainability.

Bartrums Haulage has implemented a high-power charging solution through Voltempo, enhancing its electric heavy goods vehicle (eHGV) fleet capabilities. The installation at their Eye depot includes a 400kW Rolec UltraCharge 400 unit with dual CCS2 connectors and two dedicated charging bays, supported by the UK Government's Depot Charging Scheme.
This site is strategically positioned next to a high-capacity substation from a 2022 development, minimizing costs. By summer 2026, Bartrums plans to operate three electric tractor units, including two Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 models, increasing their operational capacity and sustainability efforts. The project was managed entirely by Voltempo, ensuring effective design and funding application processes, which may set a precedent for similar future projects in the industry.
