Recent announcements reflect over RMB 17.4 billion in investments across several battery projects. Notably, Shandong Lingyisi Advanced Materials Co., Ltd. plans a 1 GWh sodium-ion battery production facility in Feicheng with RMB 330 million earmarked for its 2026 expansion.
In Oman, Zhongke Electric has commenced construction on a lithium-ion battery anode material base, projected to cost up to RMB 8 billion and aimed for initial operations by 2027. Additionally, Liyuan (Jiangsu) Technology Co., Ltd. is progressing with a lithium iron phosphate cathode material project in Jiangsu, backed by a RMB 2 billion investment, with Phase 1 completion expected in Q3 2026.
SoftBank Group in Japan is set to establish a 1 GWh energy storage battery manufacturing site, targeting operations in 2027 and 2028. These developments indicate a significant push towards increasing battery production capacity to support growing energy demands.
