Bayan Mining Signs MoU with US Critical Materials for Rare Earth Processing Collaboration
Bayan Mining and Minerals has entered a memorandum of understanding with US Critical Materials Corp to enhance rare earth processing technologies. This partnership could significantly impact the domestic supply chain and bolster US manufacturing and security efforts.
Bayan Mining and Minerals (ASX:BMM) has signed a non-binding MoU with US Critical Materials Corp (USCM) to advance rare earth processing technologies. This collaboration is expected to enhance Bayan's position in the rare earth value chain by leveraging USCM's high-grade Sheep Creek Project in Montana, which hosts significant rare earth elements.
USCM plans to explore a strategic investment in Bayan, contingent on technical evaluations and regulatory approvals. The partnership aims to utilize Bayan's licensed technologies, developed with the Colorado School of Mines, to optimize the extraction of rare earth minerals.
This arrangement positions Bayan as a key player in developing a domestic processing pathway for rare earths in the United States, while USCM's assets support rapid supply chain enhancements. Potential commercialisation pathways include joint ventures and royalty agreements, which may increase Bayan's processing capabilities across various mineralogical settings.
