BCRS Malta Enhances Jumbo RVMs to Accept Bulk PET and Aluminium Containers
BCRS Malta has upgraded its Jumbo Reverse Vending Machines (RVMs) to accept bulk PET plastic bottles and aluminium containers, effective February 2, 2026. The introduction of Comingle Compactors at ten depots across Malta and Gozo aims to streamline the return process and enhance user efficiency, supporting national recycling goals. This initiative reflects BCRS Malta's commitment to improving accessibility and increasing material recovery rates.

BCRS Malta, operator of the national Beverage Container Refund Scheme, has upgraded its Jumbo Reverse Vending Machines (RVMs) to accept PET plastic bottles and aluminium containers in bulk, effective February 2, 2026. The addition of Comingle Compactors allows for combined deposit of these materials, improving user efficiency and simplifying the return process.
Enhanced Jumbo RVMs are located at ten BCRS Depots across Malta and Gozo, each staffed with an attendant. This upgrade aims to make participation more convenient and supports national recycling goals by increasing material recovery rates. BCRS Malta continues to invest in operational improvements to enhance the scheme's accessibility and environmental impact.
