Beaufort West Solar PV Facility Achieves Financial Close in South Africa
The Beaufort West Solar PV facility, developed by Mulilo, will have a capacity of 380 MW DC and generate 818 GWh/y of electricity. Its operational impact includes significant emissions reductions and multiyear agreements for power sales.

The Beaufort West Solar PV facility will be one of South Africa's largest solar projects, featuring an installed capacity of 380 MW DC and a contracted output of 250 MW AC. Once operational, it is projected to produce approximately 818 GWh of renewable energy annually, contributing to the national grid via the Droërivier substation.
The project is expected to prevent around 860,000 tons of CO2 emissions each year. Financial closure was achieved in April 2026, and the generated power will be sold to various commercial and industrial clients under a long-term agreement with NOA.
