Belleville Establishes Emergency Response Substation in Silver Lake
Belleville plans to open an emergency response substation in the Silver Lake area by next year following extensive renovations. This initiative aims to enhance community policing and provide essential municipal services.

Belleville is set to open an emergency response substation at 191 Belmont Ave. next year, following extensive renovations. The facility will primarily host the Belleville Police Department while also offering services from public works, health, and code enforcement.
A 10-year lease has been signed for the two-story property, which will include a parking lot. Police Captain John McAloon will oversee its 24/7 operations, incorporating community policing strategies such as walking posts and bicycle patrols.
The township anticipates securing grants to support this initiative, with the aim of improving local quality-of-life issues, including crime and code enforcement. A community fair is scheduled at the location on April 11, marking its first municipal event.
