Beyond Aero Completes Wind Tunnel Tests for Hydrogen-Fueled BYA-1 Business Jet
Beyond Aero has successfully completed its first wind tunnel tests for the BYA-1 hydrogen-electric business jet, validating critical aerodynamic features. Conducted over five weeks, the tests confirmed the aircraft's performance, stability, and control, supporting its planned entry into service by 2030 with a range of 1,500 km and a cruise speed of 573 km/h. The results will aid in advancing the aircraft's development and its Preliminary Design Review.

Beyond Aero has completed its first wind tunnel test campaign for the BYA-1 hydrogen-electric business jet, validating key aerodynamic aspects. The Toulouse-based startup aims for the six-passenger aircraft to enter service by 2030, with a range of 1,500 km and a cruise speed of 573 km/h.
The wind tunnel tests, conducted over five weeks in autumn 2025 at the German-Dutch Wind Tunnels in Marknesse, focused on performance, stability, and control, confirming that the design behaves predictably across the intended flight envelope. A 1:8 scale model was used, generating over 60,000 data points, which strengthened correlation with numerical simulations and enhanced the understanding of critical aerodynamic interactions. The successful outcomes support the Preliminary Design Review and the overall development of the aircraft.
