Bhupender Gupta Receives 6-Month Extension as CMD of SJVN Limited
SJVN Limited announced that the Ministry of Power, Government of India, has extended Bhupender Gupta's additional charge as Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) for six months or until a full-time CMD is appointed. Gupta has over 34 years of experience, including 31 years in power sector CPSEs.
He began his career at SJVN in 1995 and has held significant roles in various projects, including the 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Plant. His educational background includes a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and an MBA in Operations Management. Gupta aims to address India's power demand through non-fossil fuel resources and emphasizes integrating AI, EV grid integration, cybersecurity, green hydrogen, and energy storage for sustainable energy targets.
